Past Continuous tense

Past Continuous tense.
 
  •  Functions : To express activity/activities that is done in the same time with other activity/happening in  the past time 
  •  Sentence Pattern:

1.  S+ was/were + V ing + O   when S+ V2


2. S + was/were + Ving + O    while S + was/were + Ving


  •        Examples:
Marry  was cooking in the kitchen when his father phoned her 

Candy and I were studying in the living room when our friend arrived

When mother came Dina was having lunch

Jim was typing the asignment while Bella was reading the report

Bill and Jane were singing that song while their parents were calling trough the cellphone

        While the teachers were teaching in the class the students were listening them
